Another memorable sequence involves a pig that Buck was saving for his Thanksgiving dinner. One morning, it was discovered that, during the night, a python had crawled in between the narrow bars of the pig's pen, ate the pig, and thereby trapped itself. Always the astute businessman, Buck remarks philosophically that, “I’d gladly trade a pig for a python any day.” |
