Anonymous said...: This looks like Bird, aka Floyd Baker. He has thrown the hitch on the hook, while the crew shove up the hi-jack. One of the guys will hold the hitch, and Bird would move up to the base of #1. The hitch was wrapped and not tied, in case you had to throw it off in an emergency. When he was boss canvasman, on Uncle Sid's, he would throw me a fin, when he was short-handed, to tie off the quarter pole jump ropes. The last time we trouped together, he was working for Rex on the Vargas show. Great old photo!
