The young elephant to the right, what is the reason he is not doing the long mount. I am guessing he is still too small for his front legs to reach the correct position of the previous elephant. I would appreciate a professional explanation.

Since you see him successfully mounted in picture #2 it's safe to assume that had the photographer waited two seconds longer, the picture would be complete.

So obvious! My thanks, I mislead myself when I noticed the young elephant facing forward slightly.

To Sam;
I must cop a plea; My daughter, Elaine, shot all the photos that I posted this year from Evansville and got some quite good shots.Mr Woodcock hit the perverbial nail on the head. I might point out, if you'll notice a bit more so, Timmy had just called out and is turning Obert, as on the T mount, Obert led out. On the long mount in spec, Obert was on the tail. My favorite part is when you hear that "All Right" and all concerned tail up and head out the back. Thinking back 40 years ago during my time spent as a pilot.It was these very ring curbs that were on Circus Maximus in 1968 also for Paul Kaye. The elephants were transported by rail back then. To my knowledge there are only 3 left who worked on that herd. Elephants Barbara,and Minnie and myself. I was the undisputed "youngen" on the absolute bottom of that totem pole back then.

Aw shucks, J. C., you've always been at the top of the heap in my book . . .
