Historically, foot manipulation of props is "antipodism" while foot manipulation of humans is "Risley". Years ago, I had to research the origins of the town of Carlisle, Indiana, for the introduction to a circus appearing at the somethingcentenial celebration of the city. It turned out that the city was named after Richard Risley Carlisle who, with his brother, was one of the earliest practicioners of the foot manipulation of humans, hence the name "Risley".

Display 13 - Hansel- foot juggling
Looks like he's juggling the IATSE symbol, affectionately called the "bug".
IATSE is the union that represents stagehands.
I thought the IATSE symbol was the 'doughnut'!
I always thought that foot juggling was called a risley act, whether or not the item was a person or a porop!!!
