In 1969, Rudy Bros. Circus appeared in San Diego's Balboa Park across from the old Navy Hospital. (Today, that lot is a nicely-landscaped, paved parking lot.) On Sunday, September 28th, I spent the day photographing the show. (Captain Horne was kind enough to allow me to photograph his act from just outside the big cage.) I ended up with 27 Kodachrome color slides, which I'll be sending in 3 sets of 9 each. (I'm sure that some of you will be able to provide additional information about the performers and acts that were with the show that year.) |

I had the privlege of working with Bill, Ginny (George Keller's widow) and Al, in 1963 on the Rudy show. They were three of the nicest folks I've had the pleasure of knowing in or out of the business.
The act was unique with the mix of large and small cats; lions, tigers, leopards, mountain lions, jaguar and panther.
