Aw Capt do I every remember those nights at Rosies! We all did have good times there and at CW.
I'm feeling pretty old right now because I remember the name of the damned macaw in the wrought iron cage near the door at Rosie O'Gradys circa the late '70's. Or worse yet I remember the .99 cent breakfasts at the Woolworth's lunch counter near the Trailways bus station in what then still remained of quaint downtown Orlando. I think I still had all my hair then....
Wow. I look forward to seeing you both on "Dancing with the Stars".
Buckles...Nice 70's era polyester baby blue suit!..Um, Look I'm 6' 150lbs...Uh, if you still have it in the closet and you think it would fit me..ah, I'd be willing to fork over some cash or maybe a medium sized Plush prize for it...My bankroll is runnin low and I may have to apply for a Wally world Greeters job to be able to get the show rollin this Spring..you see, I'm thinkin that suit may ice the Job.....Best JZ P.S. If we can work out a Deal... when I hit the Road, I promise I will display it in a nice cabinet...You know..Like the GGW bra at Baraboo....
Jim, your comment reminds me of a statement made at the Club last Saturday by James Plunket who, when asked how the past season had gone replied, "We had a very good year!" and after a moment's reflection added, "But not good enough to loan anyone any money....almost but not quite!."
Through the 70s I had a full
set of shoes socks belt & shirt
to match each of my many poly
leisure suits for each day of
the week and special contrast
sport jackets to add a touch of
extra class for weekends
Shirts were never buttoned
above midpoint to show off
my show bling (claws & teeth)
Chic
Buckles,
I wasn't going to bring it up, but now that you mention it, in reference to the photo you ran the other day, with your grandson sitting on your lap opening Christmas gifts, I remember back in the mid 70's and 80's when all young tiger trainers wanted to look like GGW and all young elephant trainers grew beards and wanted to look like Buckles Woodcock. I wonder how many of those elephant trainers realized then they would grow up and look like Sabu Moreau? LOL

Trolle Rhodin took Barbara and I to dine one evening about this time, the first time I ever saw a Credit Card.
Pretty classy guy, when the waiter returned with the receipt Trolle asked, "Was the tip satisfactory?" and he replied,"Yes Indeed!".
I was mightily impressed until I learned it was a Company Card.
This has nothing to do with circus --- in the 60's the bank sent my mother and father a letter inviting them to open a MasterCharge account. Yes, it was MasterCharge at the time, now it is Master Card.
Furious that the bank thought they didn't have any money, my mother marched to the bank, spoke to the manager, using her very direct Irish personality, who in turn apologized for any unintentional insult.
How times have changed. Now some credit cards are status symbols.
Today these stores ask you if you have their courtesy card and you have to go digging through a dozen other cards to get to theirs. I remember when all you needed was good old cash and any store would roll out the red carpet for you.
I can only assume that with the new year we will be getting regular Sunday updates on the current status of the scale at the mall.

I had a polyester leisure suit for every day of the week.
I think it was beige.
Ole Whitey,
Get in touch with Zych, maybe he can square the beige leisure suit along with Buckles' baby blue one and the argyle socks with Baraboo, and they can do a "Mr. Blackwell's Circus Collection" display.
