Time - Life Photo.1 - Leopard Trainer

From Henry Penndorf:

Last night while I was on the computer, I came across a web site that contained a number of photos (including the three attached photos) that originally appeared in Life Magazine.

The only descriptions for these three photos were, "Leopard Trainer, Ringling Brothers, 1940". I thought that maybe you, or one of the Blog's readers might be able to identify the gentleman pictured. I was thinking maybe Alfred Court?

I want to wish you and your family, a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Stay well,

Henry

Yes! This is indeed Mr. Court.
Having been married to Wilson Storey's daughter, Tina, Willy left
her globs of stuff from his uncle
as in pictures and scrapbooks.
He loved to tell stories of the 40's with RBBB and Court.

When the Beatty show awaited a different lot in Galveston, in '81, Willy Storey stood at the edge of the original lot, awaiting word on where to move the show. Since I had the cats fed, watered and bedded down, I stood with him, and for over two hours, he answered my questions and told me memorable stories about his years with his Uncle Alfred, and the Court acts. Then Johnny Pugh and Eddie Firlein returned with a new lot contracted and the arrows up, and we were off the save the day. During the rest of the season, I had a few rare, brief moments to visit with Mr. Storey, but nothing in learning about the Court era could take the place of those two hours.
