Dear Colleagues & Associates,
On behalf of the entire Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® family and the proud parents, Sally and Charlie, I am excited to announce the birth of a healthy female Asian elephant named Sundara.

The Asian elephant is a revered and respected member of our Ringling Bros. family and Sundara's arrival is the 21st birth in what has already become the largest sustainable herd of captive Asian elephants in the Western Hemisphere.

As we know, the Asian elephant is an endangered species and it is vital to their survival for us to actively participate in and fund conservation programs. That is why in 1995, we established the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Center for Elephant Conservation®, a research, reproduction and retirement facility dedicated to the preservation of the endangered Asian elephant. We are proud of the steadfast efforts that our elephant husbandry and veterinary teams provide to support the Ringling Bros. Center and its global conservation programs.

Every calf born into our care represents Ringling Bros. commitment toward keeping this remarkable species on the planet for generations to come. We are thrilled to share this great announcement with all of you.

Kenneth Feld

Congratulations, this is quite an accomplishment and quite an expense to maintain a facility of this size.
Hats off to Ringling on this one. You can use the hat you get when you buy the bag of cotton candy.

You have a better chance of getting an inside tour of Fort Knox than you do the Ringling Elephant farm.
