I think the ads were as interesting as probably the rest of the magazine was! Alot of thought, and imagination, in putting these ads together, and tying everything in with the circus! Thanks Buckles! Pete, the Baraboobian!
Though the '20s I love the ads as well - especially the 'Flit' & the Free 'White Elephant'- hopefully better than Forepaugh's & Barnum's? [well, 1 of his "Burmese priests" seems to have been Irish....)
Regarding the 'Flit' I notice the ad mentioned bed-bugs (sorry). Did the smaller US shows use straw-filled "Kipsey" sacks to sleep on like 'Lord' George Sanger's circus had here in Britain? We are shortly to "Remember, Remember, the 5th of November here" - that was the traditional date that Sangers burnt all their Kipseys. Or, did your smaller pre-motor shows use something else?
