From Roger Smith

Friend Buckles,

I mailed you the photo of Parley and I with James Whitmore to make note of Whitmore's 87th birthday this month. I feel we should give this one credit as a "Kim Baer Photo".

After this taping, I asked Whitmore if he would say hello to Parley. When he walked over, he was obviously overcome by Parley's condition. He stood there a moment, and then his tears came. He hugged Parley, and it took Kim awhile to get us composed for the photo.

Whitmore had three roles that day in "A Bradbury Binary", recorded by the California Artists Radio Theatre (CART), for National Public Radio. The date was July 7, 2002.

All the best to all of you,

Roger & Kim

Everyone around that show made a sort of kidding reference to it being recorded in the Beverly Garland Theatre, at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn, in Beverly Garland's Hollywood.

Miss Garland is also an October birthday name, listed this year at 81.
