Milk Run!

From Sam:

what is the origin of
'milk run', a term I've heard for many years.
Sam
thank you

"It means to milk the audience one final time.
After our first run through in rehearsal, Irvin Feld told me that after the act, rather than simply exit down the back track, he wanted "Anna May" to make a lap around the entire arena.
I would wait for them at the back door and say to Harold and Bob "Here come my two old broads!"

MILK RUNS: While, I don't think it would be fair to rank MILK RUNS I would like to see other picks. I will start it off with Tommy Hanneford and the Riding Hannefords, Mark Karoly and the Riding Karolys,.... HERBIE WEBBER: What type of Milk Run would you call that? How about some others?
