| I saw Hunt Bros Circus in on Aug 2, 1963 in Wickford, RI. I was only 16 at the time, and not yet driving. I made the 23 mile trip over and back on my bicycle. I also convinced my dad to drive me over to Wakefield on the next day to see the show again. For some reason or other they went with a 3 pole / 2 ring top on both stands. |

As we view these photos from 45 years ago in southern New England, Circus Vidbel will be playing many of the former Hunt towns in the next few weeks.
Jimmy that was the year they billed it as the Royal International Circus. A lot of towns that year they pkayed in a one ring format. By the time they got to my hometown, Salisbury, MD, they were using only 1 centerpiece.
That's the show that sparked my brother and I's interest in circus.
