Anonymous said...: Bob and Jeff were the "rosin backs" for the Bulgarian ________ Family bareback riding act on the Blue in 76'. (Help with the name appreciated.) Once, in Venice, they were practicing and Bob and Jeff broke ring and started running down the track. Being the fascinated with everything animals idiot that I was and am, I watched practice from the seats.I jumped in front of them and stopped them with a mighty "Whoa" and grabbed their tack like I knew what I was doing. They stopped. Pappa __________ said,"You brave lady!" Thinking back on it I realize, I wasn't brave just stupid to run before to galloping Belgiums? and think that I would live! They gave me the big treat of putting me into a mechanic and flying me around taking great joy in watching me flap in the wind. Beautiful, golden Bob and Jeff whose handler was also the cobbler for the performers.

GaryHill said...: Dick and Tom were the other two belgiums in the act. I was groom for them in WTQTS before the Bulgarians got there. They took the horses to their hotel one night and swam them in the hotel pool! Venice cops came to WTQTS and got me. I had to get them out of the pool, the Bulgarians were just alittle bit drunk.; 25 August, 2008 08:16
