This series of exquisite drawings came from a 1961 children’s book titled ROGER THE ROSIN BACK, written and illustrated by Los Angeles artist Bernard Garbutt (1900-1975). Garbutt was a staff artist for the Los Angeles Times and covered county fairs, horse races and farming events. He also produced drawings for the Sunday supplements. Disney subsequently hired him to provide artwork for SNOW WHITE and BAMBI. He later taught at the Chouinard Art Institute. |
