Buckles, The route card is self explanitory. The photo of Johnny might be from 1966 or 1967, I did not take it |

"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."
Hey, Jack Ryan, is this another of your famous quotes?
I wonder if W.G.B Likes this Pictures?
Not really. I think the Col. looks kind of sinister. I like the one with the 12 liberty ponies, and the elephant, pony, dog deal better.
Wade Burck
That's how I remember you when you brought the three Elephants to Venice. Eva ,Toby and I forgot the name of the last one. I must be getting old.I do remember that Eva years later tried to kill the Polish night watch man and when I went to help him she grabbed a shovel and tried to hit me with the damn thing . She missed and then throw it at me.
The next day Buckles came to pick Eva up to teach her some manners and he did a excellent job of that.
Johnny,
Did this trailer have a crumb box in the front?
Wade Burck
The Col. looks like he is preparing to do some "Mud Show" justice on some fella's beefin at the over and under table......(nice Fedora Col.)......
Yes it had bunk beds and closet crummy. Also had vent openings of roof vents in ceiling from front to back that could open or close and nice back doors could be opened and heavy wire mesh in place. UNique top and bottom pony stabling [we hauled 14 ponies with mangers in front of them] Up and down ramp was lowered and the raised very nicesly from inside. Elephants road loose on back deck with heavy screen metal doors. Entire trailer was fabricated in Deppe work shops from ground up, with advice from me and Wilbur Deppe genius in doing everything just right and first class. He did not want us to go down the highway second class. Entire metal floor was shaped up the sides six inches or more with drain holes sitiated, and we bedded with shavings. I drove it and Frank Braun had confidence in my driving that he liked to ride in the crummy. I would have never done that and told him so. So be it.
Amusement Business did a whole page story about the trailer with excellent photos when we were out on Long Island.
Thanks Jimmy for the great pictures. It is very nice of you. You are a fine person. WE HAD SOME GREAT TIMES.
