CWM 1968 #6

Jimmy Cole told me that they took everything to Milwaukee that year but didn't parade. They did performances at the grounds however.
In their absence, Murray Hill, seen above, served as their replacement.

As I recall, there was no Milwaukee parade in 1968 because of municipal concerns over rioting. There was much unrest in the country in 1968 - -Viet Nam war protests and race riots in many places including Washington and Baltimore. These had been occurring with growing frequency since the Watts riots of 1965.

When I was a Kid...I watched the "Mighty Mites" break the wooden stage in front of the Grandstand while performing at the Wisconsin Valley Fair..
