Chas. B. Wier Elephants #2

This is a montage circulated in the 1930's, the trainer here is Tom Veasey.
I should have done some background on this act but from memory, Mr. Wier bought these elephants for his girl friend Maude Henry who styled the act. In fact two were named after her "Maude" and later "Henrietta".

I believe Old Hank (Henrietta) was on Corky Plunkett and Vernon Pratt's James Christy Circus in 1959-1960.

I know that in 1961 Corky had her on his shopping center unit. That spring we billed Crystal City, Texas, for Carson and Barnes and the unit was playing there at the time.

They had Hank in the truck and only took her out to perform. Later that spring she killed a town guy and was put down in San Angelo.

Incidentally I think Dick McLaughton was over there at the time.
