Raymond Duke could do about anything around or ahead of a circus.

I lithographed with him on Beatty-Cole but I first knew him when he was booking some show- was it Adams Bros?

He was an elephant man at one time and a clown during another period.

I believe B K Silverlake was Raymond's daughter- is that right?

Are there still guys like this out there?

I met B.K. Silverlake today and spend a wonderful hour and a half talking about her days with the circus. She is still doing it and I told her she should write a book! She can tell stories all day long and I had no idea who Bk. Silverlake was until I went home and put the Silverlake name into a Google. Circus bluebloods...that's who the Silverlakes are.

Even though I left a comment about B.K. Silverlake yesterday, I had not read this website and seen all the amazing things you have on it. I will be spending hours and hours reading this and going to all the links you have listed. This is incredible. I had planned on asking you to recommend a book for me about circus history, but I think I have found it here already!! Accidently meeting B.K. Silverlake yesterday while we were getting the oil changed in our cars, has just made me amazingly interested in circus history. I think that SHE even comes to this blog, because she mentioned logging into a friend's circus blog and finding out some news...maybe it was about the famous circus performer's death. Thank you so much for this blog. I'm going to get educated!!!
