Joey, Nice pictures. The old brick buildings at Audubon are beautiful classics. What is the deal with this "stick". Is it a target for exercising the trunk, or a measuring stick of some kind? Wade
It is not a measuring stick or a flute (though that's a good one). When I put this version of the show together, it has three sections, log work, elephant physiology and "circinsic acrobatics" with the walking long mount to a bow as the blow-off. Photos 6 and 7 are from the physiology section showing two ways an elephant reaches up to get at something. When I added this I wasn't sure I would keep in long but the public seems to like it, somedays you can hear the sigh of delight from the people when the elephant gets the marshmellow or banana.
Joey, I couldn't tell what that was on the top. I thought it was a buoy or something, sorry If you want a good illustration of reach, you can do a William Tell deal. Get a tough male, chain him up, have one of your keepers stand 25 foot away, and show the audience how an elephant can knock the apple of your head, using the chin to "project" it. LOL Wade

Dammit Wade, can't you see that that is an elephant flute. The elephant provides the wind and Joey plays the notes.
