Another loss to the circus world.
Kim Baer and I had just put Get Well wishes in the mail to the address posted on the blog. It must have been too late.
Peggy was a saintly person, who took excellent care of her mother into her late 90s. She brought her to visit on the Plunkett show, in San Antonio, in about 1997, and had a comfortable bed for her in back of her van. She backed it up so her mother could see the show. This was the last time I saw Peggy.
Back in 1990, Bill Johnston and I went to visit her in New Braunfels, and took her to dinner. That night, we enjoyed an evening of jackpots with Peggy at Emil and Hannah Pallenberg's, very close to Peggy's home. Great memories of great showfolks.
Dear Peggy, Rest in Peace.

Although we never met, I had the great opportunity to speak with her on the phone on several occassions. She was fantastic. Truly an inspiration to all.

If there is anything good about the loss of these great ladies, Peggy and Gee Gee it's the fact that they can spell each other driving the truck, and Gee Gee doesn't have to double back. That, and there are some pretty good hands waiting to help them get the chains out and get unloaded.

With sympathy and caring thoughts, our hearts go out to the families of two of the circus's best women elephant performers... Gee Gee it was an honor to have been taught to ride elephants from you, and Peggy we always enjoyed your photo album visits @ San Antonio of you, Mac, and the awesome elephants!!! We'll Miss you, Ginny and Joe Frisco Family
Both these great ladies will be sorely missed.
Our world is a better place because they were here.

What sad news about Peggy.
she was quite a lady. Quoting her once after the elephant act, she said she thought she was one of the better dressed pushers in the business. What a team. She sure kept Mac's western hemisphere covered when it came to working elephants.I sure remember her dad, Lou Henderson and siblings; brother Richie and sisters Annie and Billy. A fine fine person. With sincere condolences to her family. James C. Hall
