Sells-Floto coaches 1915

As per the recent Buffalo Bill comments, I thought I would add this picture of what appears to be Col. and Mrs. Cody's private car.

I don't recall having read where Cody's wife ever traveled with the Wild West, or the Sells-Floto circus, but it's always possible. A photo shows the couple posed beside a private car titled the "Cody." Cody shared a car with Pawenee Bill on the Two Bills outfit. Some private cars were at the end of the train, others ran towards the middle, a more protected spot in the event of rear end collisions. The end car in this group doesn't appear to be a private car but a conventional sleeper. Usually private cars bore a number and sometimes a name. The window arrangement would also be different, in most cases, from a converted system coach, tourist car or sleeper.
