In addition the Chicago and New York World’s Fairs, Frank Buck set up his Jungle Camp exhibit at other locations. The following set of photos was taken during the 1930s in Rhode Island at RHODES-ON-THE-PAWTUCKET, which was apparently some sort of amusement park or resort facility. In the late 1950s, “Jungle” Larry Tetzlaff had a similar display at Puritas Springs, an amusement park that was only a few miles from my home. (Tetzlaff had once worked for Frank Buck, so maybe that’s where he got the idea.) |

What a very interesting display of photos this morning.
Was this trucked from town to town or railroaded?
I see one cage for a Chimpanzee. Was everything a take apart display or were these cages with wheels and maybe the wheels are removed while on display? It's pretty hard to see.

Puritas Springs Park was located in Cleveland. After it closed in 1958, Jungle Larry moved his animal exhibit to Chippewa Lake (another Ohio amusement park.) He eventually ended up at Cedar Point, the world class amusement park near Sandusky, Ohio.
Hi Eric,
I grew up in Sandusky. We watched Jungle Larry on the Captain Penny show out of Cleveland. Years later, I went to work for Jungle Larry's at Cedar Point and then to Florida. They were a fantastic group of poeple to work for.
