New history is made in Baraboo With the tremendous amounts of water flowing through Baraboo on the River part of Water Street by Circus World Museum is closed. Because, I believe, dangers associated with the rising waters and conditions in the area Circus World Museum is closed for the day, Tuesday, June 10th. All performers are in great shape but have been advised to watch the river. Plans have been made in case everyone has to be moved. Hotel space has been arranged to take care of all in the case that the river rises to much. Height of the river is not really changed since last evening but checking on my brothers property next door to us and west of Baraboo the creek continues to backup flooding the pastures even more because the river has so much water in it that the creeks can not empty into the river so the water level will stay high for several days. The Baraboo River is due to crest sometime later today or tonight but it looks as though the water will not reach any of Circus World's buildings on the main property or the performers. The sun is out now and not much rain is expected for the next couple of days so this should help with the river height. Ralph from Baraboo |
