What happened to this "Jenny"?

JENNY
1949-58 Kelly-Miller Circus
1959-64 Carson & Barnes (Jack Moore)
1965 Sold to Mexico

"I recall hearing that while showing border towns in Mexico, Jenny took off one day, splashed across the river and wound up back in Texas.
Quite a stir. Maybe someone can remember the details of her eventual return to Mexico."

Buckles,
How much did the Millers pay for the young elephants? How much did they pay for Anna May?

$3,500 per elephant.

That's about the annual income of an average American family at the time. Would that comparison hold for other years when you've bought and sold elephants? Any idea what your dad might have made in those early years?
