I remember playing a string of Shrine dates for Al Dobritch when Mr. Baudy had the big tiger act.
We were moving into the building in Montreal when he pulled up in his Cadillac and adorned in the usual sports coat and ascot said to me, "Tell Charlotte I will be at the Ritz Hotel".
Shortly she arrived driving the semiand after spotting the semi and after she got it spotted, I told her where Robert was and she didn't seem particularly concerned.
She and the groom proceeded to drag out the ramps, unload the tiger cages, spot them in the building and was in the process of cleaning up and watering the stock when Mr. Baudy made his official entry.
Quite a contrast, he the European fashion plate and Zeke in her coveralls and baseball cap.; 13 May, 2008 08:42
