These house trailers are so similar in appearance they must have been supplied by the show.

Bob Kellogg told me that when Rex Rossi was on the Show....Rex was given a show trailer to live in...when he said it was full of Lice...they fumagated it...when he told Tom Mix it still had Lice in it...Tom told him to get his stuff out of it...then Tom dumped Gas on it and burned it down......and gave him another one......Jim Zajicek

Although I never heard that story, Rex had lots of accounts of the Tom Mix Show and Tom himself. Rex learned to drive in Tom's yellow Cord, sometimes without Tom's knowledge as kids will do. A few years back Rex and I found this Cord being restored in California and he was able to sit in it again showing me the hole that was put in the floorboard for Tom's spur when he drove. Rex was also able to give the gentleman who was restoring it the correct color. A Malton TV segment was made and aired about the car with Rex as emcee. Rex was raised by Tom Mix until his death in that exact Cord vehicle. I shall try and upload some photos of Rex and Tom on the circus grounds.

Thank you for that great story. A hole cut in the floor of the car for Tom Mix's spur? That Johnny Herriot is "western Americana". Like Buffalo Bills Wild West Congressof Cowboys and Cowgirls. Not to be confused with "western heritage."

My son and I saw this Cord at the big car museum in Las Vegas, in '95, but we didn't know to look for the hole in the floor. We can only trust this may have been the true Mix car. Maybe someone knows for sure. If someone can collect 15-minute films of Marilyn Monroe, another guy could have secured the Cord.

I wonder, of course, since I've also seen half-a-dozen different cars in which Bonnie and Clyde were killed, each a little different color and with different patterns of bullet holes. Aside from that, every single one of my family and all their friends in East Texas and Louisiana were right there when they were shot, evidently each hiding behind his own bush to await the shooting.

Mix roots along with Buck Jones and others would be a head cowboy on the 101 Ranch "real" Wild West Show. I love that word "real" in there. Makes it sound even more exciting. Pretty swmart Press guy that came up with that. Just like "Buffalo Bill's Congess of "rough riders of the world"

There is another great Horse Trainer-Eques. Director contemporary with Agee on Ringling and later supplied Dancing groups of High School horses and riders on all the major tent shows and he and Agee along with fellow horse trainer Denny Curtis and great bareback rider Orrin Davenport started the big Shrine Circuses that we know of today, starting with Minneapolis and he was the great "Rohda Royal". He3 also hyad his own RR show over the years and owned a number of elephants. He was a real emprisario and at one time all the fine American trainers were around Mr. Royal. Kind of like Art Concello with flyers. He was also an elderly Gentleman driving a fine harness buggy on the Mix Show. Rex had told me about them as wqell. They have been "idols" of mine over the years, among others.

Yes indeed the Cord did go to the car museum in Las Vegas. It was sold to them by the gentleman who restored it. After it's arrival and display there I am not aware if it is still there or if it was sold again. That's as far as I have knowledge of.

My dad was a cowboy in the Tom Mix Show '39-'41. His name on the program is "Johnny Mayfield" - he went by John all his life although his name was Clarence.
I would love to find anyone who knew him or relatives. I have some pictures and a program.
