Making good use of Army surplus after the war. I remember reading about the halftrack stake driver in The Bandwagon. I don't think it lasted long, maybe only a couple of years. It would have been pretty cumbersome on a tight lot, given the fact that the turning radius probably left a lot to be desired. The D2 Caterpillar tractors the show had were more versital and the regular stake drivers that were mounted on other pieces of equipment were better suited for driving stakes on the lot.

Bob Horn salvaged the chassis from this monster out of a scrapyard or graveyard down in Sarasota in the 1990s. It's still around somewhere.
