Here are two photos of Merle Evans taken in 1950.
One photo shows the humorous side of Merle. I don't know who the other musician is.

I know it most likely isn't him, but the one guy sure looks like Charlton Heston? Maybe he was clowning around during the filming of GSOE????

I believe this is Jimmy Isle when he took over the RedShow band and was taken at the Ringling museum as part of a Press release, or something along those lines.Jimmy was agreat disciple of Merle's

I don't know if this is Jimmy Isle but the picture was part of a set I have that was taken in the old Madison Square Garden during the 1950 run. Notice the float in the backgroung of the second photo. It is the center ring spec float.

I stand corrected. It is interesting to see both in "leaders uniform" Thats what gave me the thought that it was Jimmy and it sure looks like him, mannerisms and all.
