Most of the bandsmen in this photo where from Columbus and were members of the Shrine. The musicianship was surprisingly good. Many of the players had day jobs as music teachers in the public schools and were very much involved the Columbus professional music scene -- everything from playing in the Symphony to doing dance band jobs on weekends.
