Charlton Heston 1978 (From Buckles)

My mother cut his picture of Araceli Baumann and Mr. Heston out of a tabloid and was in connection with a thing we did prior to a performance in LA for the Hope Foundation.
As I recall about a dozen celebrities were introduced as they entered on elephants while Mr. Heston served as ringmaster.
Sixteen years later in 1994 this event was repeated and this time Jimmy Silverlake took Mr. Heston around the track on "Tommy" while Jim Ragona announced, "Welcome back to The Greatest Show on Earth" very impressive.
It was a bit of an ordeal getting Mr. Heston up on the elephant, he had injured his leg somehow and to complicate matters he insisted on taking a small child (his grandson) along with him.
Afterward I asked why he would go thru such an ordeal and he said that he had done the same thing when his son was at that age and it was important that he share the experience with his grandson.
About that time I noticed that at some point during the procession, his grandson had pissed in his lap.
That's what I call dedication to family but not the way I wanted to remember Moses.

Buckles,

I have some photos I took from that night in LA when Mr. Heston was getting ready to mount the elephant that dad was leading. For some reason, I don't believe it was Tommy, but I won't know for sure until I dig through my photos this evening. I'll get them scanned and send along.

Brad, you had better get rid of those pictures before you get into serious trouble.
You just might get a visit from the Big "N"!.
