When this 1941 photo series first appeared two weeks ago, there was some discussion about the colors of the tents and sidewalls, including the blue big top favored during the two North eras. Note the variations of sidewall seen in this image. Billboard reported that when the show opened its under-canvas season here in Baltimore, the side show top was orange with blue sidewall, the menagerie tent red, and the big top was "the familiar dark blue." Viewers can see some of the varied sidewall in this slide as well as two dirty red tents; red tents are more easily discerned in photos 11 and 14.
