These were originally individual cross cages and came to the Beatty show in 1949 with the former Jimmy Edgar Sparks Circus wagons.
Built by Lewis Diesel in Memphis, they served the Beatty show for many years in the menagerie; they were not used for the cats in the act.
Looking at these photos it so hard to imagine the Clyde Beatty Circus ever looked like this as to what we saw down the road.
They really must have been in a real hurry to throw something together to get on the road quick.
I heard that some of the old auto carriers gave out and were sway belled and bowed very bad in the middle of the trailer.
I know Collins signed the note for the new trucks and money must have been real tight.
Now what i would like to hear more on and especially from Bob Snowden as to the talk of having two Beatty Cole units a East and West coast. Just think what it would have been to have two units and the show they would have put on then.
