Buckles , Somewhere I have a documentary that you are part of. Wasn't it you who said? (para phrase) Clifford Vargas accomplished in 11 years what took ringling 120 to do. I always thought it was one of the most profound and classy compliments to his legacy. Mr. Lee
Lee, I don't remember having said that but if I did it was stolen from Rick Pfening's introduction of Mr. Vargas who was guest speaker at a CHS Convention. It was quite simple, Rick pointed out that Vargas Show was the equivalent of a 30 car railroad show and at that time had been on the road as such for about 17 years. He then asked the audience to name other circus owners who had accomplished this feat. Of course Bailey and the Ringlings were named right off then came the questions, Forepaugh? No, Wallace No., Mugivan & Bowers? No, Adkins & Terrell? No. Overall the show may have lasted close to 25 years at that size.
