Rex Williams 1958

Scan000010782, originally uploaded by bucklesw1. These next four pictures are loosely related beginning with Rex Williams working the Howard Suesz elephants (Clyde Bros. Circus) shortly after replacing the original trainer Tony Smaha. Rex told me that when this picture was taken he was using a whip as instructed by Mr. Smaha, which he soon eliminated, along with the fourth bull tub, too much stuff to carry around. These are the elephants ("Mary", "Sue" and "Ruth") that took part in the Cuban revolution the following winter.
