From Dave Price

Bob3, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Here we see a young Bob Gable visiting with Clyde and Harriet Beatty in the Hagenbeck-Wallace backyard on June 9, 1934 in Altoona, PA.

Bob was a lifelong fan of Beatty's and a friend to many circus people. He passed to his reward in New York City on Friday January 4, 2008 at age 86.

He will be missed by many friends including Mary Jane and me.

From Buckles
"The St. Pete Times has become interested in our Blog and I am being interviewed this afternoon. I mention this so there is ample time for me to be forewarned should there be any outstanding warrents among the viewership."

HANNEFORD DROWNED BY TSUNAMI

Struppi Hanneford's Royal Hanneford Circus has been replaced at ADVENTURELAND park, Des Moine,Iowa with a water park called Kokomo Kove.

The new water feature takes up all of the real estate previously used by the circus.

While many producers have taken a BATH with a circus this is the first time a BATH has taken a CIRCUS.**************************************************************

A big thanks to the RINGLING PROMOTERS for arranging the interview for Buckles about the blog. It always pays to be nice.
