Isn't the tarentella the 'spider dance', done after the bite of a tarantula to sweat out the poison?
(I'm sure I remember that from the Schaum Blue Book piano lessons when I was seven...!)
They dance a tarantela in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers" and it's quite lively.
Speaking of music, me and grand daughter Kay sat right next to drummer Roy Houston and enjoyed Charles Schlarbaun and his twenty piece band at yesterday's Gibtown Circus.
Got my fix for another year.
The costumes, the lights, the special effects and the scenery...and FELD had NOTHING to do with this!
