Here are a couple of Harry Quillen photos, my dad wrote on the back of this one, "Pasadena, Cal. taken from Suicide Bridge.".

Knowing Californians as we do today, this was probably the designated jumping off point that would least effect the Ecology.

Today we just call it the Green Bridge and post exit signs at the highest points with the lowest rails

At first I thought it was the entire touring herd of the RED, BLUE and GOLD elephants.

Buckles, I will be jogging in that same spot today. I live just a few miles from the Rosebowl and run a trail in the arroyo that that cuts directly under Suicide Bridge. I am there at least 3 times a week.

Why is suicide Bridge one of the most popular spots in Pasadena????

Cuz people are just DYING to get there!

It's a joke...

OK... every one just move along... nothing to see here.

Would that be Blanch bringing up the rear ?

If that is where I think it is they are going south, probably to California Ave. They would be about a mile and a half from the tracks. They are close to Colorado Blvd here, but the tracks that cut through Old Town Pasadena and Colorado didn't leave any room for off-loading that I know of.

Hey.. Mr/Mrs/Ms Anonymous:
Re: Your comment on this great photo of elephants..
and your not being able to resist making a snide ..and boring.. remark...
Would you kindly give me the names of the elephants on the Red/Blue/Gold (2008) units so I can weight your known statistics vs your ablility to make cute comments.

I will ask has anyone seen the Gold unit yet, and is Patty Zerbini on the show with her elephant LUKE?
Bob

PS: The Gold Unit will be in Florence, SC Feb.21 to 24th.

Yes, Patty is there. Luke and one other.......plus a zebra.
Show flows well. Is classic in that acts consist of such things as roman rings, tigers, wheel, decent clowning with (again that word) classic gags. Return to sparkles on the costumes and glamour for the ladies. No butt floss.....old style with bustles, 50's style on some.
Nice show

In answer to Anonymous above, the last elephant is indeed "Blanche" ridden by Billy Cox.
My dad in the center and Arky Scott up front riding his horse "Circus".

Today Kenneth Feld owns about 60 elephants but only takes 19 on the road, two of which are rented.

Anonymous,
Butt floss is a move in the right direction towards glamor and beauty and you applaud bustles which hid big behinds???? Used to be the length of the tail, gave you an indiction of how old somebody was, or how long they had been performing. I think the formula was 4 inches for every 6 years, or 4 inches for every 13 pounds. Which ever came first.

Owns 60, 19 on the road, two rented AND BEFORE TOO LONG another one will be aquired: stuffed and named FRITZ.

Which two are rented; Luke obviously and who is the second.

Ms. Zerbini is presenting Luke, Roxy and a young zebra whose name I believe is Pierre
