(Of course 22 years after this photo was taken, the ol' mug has more furrows than a Kansas cornfield in springtime- and I'm perfectly ok with that!)

The lion is Rex. We spent 10 wonderful years together. A truly gentle spirit. He came from Josip Marcan. There has only been one cat out of the dozens I've had over the years who came close to touching my heart as Rex did; a tiger named Obi. Two very special animals. An honor to have known them both.

HM: Obi was originally Trudy Strong's tiger. He was in her act in Germany. I'm not sure who trained him originally, maybe William Voss? Or Trudy? Don't know. I met Obi when he was nearly 10 years old. We just clicked right off the bat. Rex had been gone for twelve years; it was almost like I had him back, but this time he was in a striped suit!
