Russell Bros. Circus 1932

Scan000010535, originally uploaded by bucklesw1. In 1932 jobs were hard to come by. The Orton Show had folded and my folks as newlyweds had nothing. My dad could return to the Floto Show but he didn't have enough clout to bring a wife. As luck would have it, Pauline Webb was a good friend of the Ortons and brought my mother and her sisters over to Russell Bros. Circus. This picture (hand painted by my mother) shows Aunt Nellie at left and my mother being taught High School riding by the noted equestrian Frank Miller.
