Charlie was a great pal of mine at Jungleland. On DR. DOLITTLE, he made sure I knew the ropes around my new membership in Local 399, Studio Transportation Drivers, which included all animal trainers. Later, he asked for me out of the Compound on the early Miller-Johnson tours, with the Jungleland Fighting Lions and as Ringmaster. We had some memorable times together, including the nights we went to Malibu and cooked out, drank beer, and slept on the beach, leaving the wives at home. Of the two Charlies, I liked Allen, and could have done without Germaine.

If anyone knows where Kay Allen is today, I'd enjoy saying hello to her again.
