The winter of 67/68 on Circo Atayde at Arena Mexico run. I recall the Padillas Flying act in the show also they were constructing a canvas top for their show on top of the parking garage adjacent to the arena. Aways enjoyed visiting their show while we were south of the border. J.C.Hall
I helped them bring their show to Texas right before I went to work for JC (No, The one in Chicago)I loaned them $5000.00 as they were runnin short...with the loan, they owed me about $6000.oo with back pay.....about 5 years later (I had written off the stew) I was playin Balboa Park in San Diego with Ed Migley's Circo Mundial...When a car pulled up by the Elephants...out popped Humberto and Tuli....I walked over to them and they said they had heard I was there and handed me $4800.oo in american...They said they were back on their feet...and would send the rest when they made more!..I said, Thanks...but lets call it even! They thanked me and said their show/shows (They have 3 now) were my home and I was Family...Great People, how many show owners would ever be Honorable 5 years LATER......JIm Zajicek
We joined the Padillas in Monterrey, Mexico in the fall of 1972, immediately following their tour with Carson & Barnes. The agreement was to stay a year, more or less but owing to an unexpected offer (check out picture #9) I returned to Florida in Oct. of 1973 but Barbara, Ben and "Anna May" remained throughout the Mexico City engagement then came home in December.

Buckles, I'm interested in knowing how you happened to be on this circus and how long.
