That's just GREAT!
Congratulations Amy and Family!!
Terrific news Buckles. Congratulations to all involved.
You once said on this blog that you didn't take much of an interest in elephants until they were old enough to train but you sure sound excited about Miss Betz!!! Steve Robinson
Actually I first received news of the blessed event yesterday morning from Mr. Riddle. The printed information above came via Army Maguire, I only provided the picture which I might add was taken by Paul Gutheil.
I expect to get pictures of mother and infant shortly.
"MISS Betz"
Great news in the animal world prior to the Christmas Holiday. Congradulations to Scott R. and of course to you Buckles and AMY..This also ties in with the Elephant News out of MASS.....Hope to see you all at the OABA Animal Gathering - Jan. 3rd - Kay Rosaires - Sarasota..If last years attendance is any indicator of interest then there is no reason why the 2nd Annual Meeting won't be a success...Buckles sorry I had to cut our telephonic conversation short yesterday. Thats the danger of talking on a cell phone in traffic...
This is such wonderful news! The best Christmas gift of all. Congrats to all on the miracle of Miss Betz and her mother, Amy. Who is the happy father? Karen Glenn
Congratulations to all concerned.
We feel like Amy is a member of our family. We shared great times when she was a part of Big Apple Circus.

In the mispelled words of Lewis Carroll, "Oh frabjous day, calou, calay!" 'Tis the season to be elated, if not overjoyed. I would like to add Diane's and my sincere congratulations and compliments to all involved. I have always had a particular affinity for Amy since we first met. If you say Amy to me my first thought is always that
of a "little girl" with her trunk outstretched in gentle curiosity and, to my mind, friendly greeting.
I never imagined all those years ago when I first joined CFA,
the endless joys that I would be sharing with showfolks and fellow fans. All I want for Christmas is a ticket to the Circus.
Paul Gutheil
PS Thanks Buckles; it's one of my favorite photos!
It's ashame that Bob Norris isn't here to see this!
Is Amy's original owner still alive? I bet he would be just as excited about the news.
The statement from "AOK Tom" above has an ominous tone to it
Buckles,
I have yet to see a statement delivered by a nameless individual, that was not ominious. or false. They have got to all be piled up behind the same tree. By the way, Jackal's will "mass up" like that also.

There's an interview with Bob Norris on the National Public Radio website about Amy and Buckles
