Barnum & Bailey #2

He wrote: "Barnum-Bailey 1890, Side Show Banner Line".

Picture doesn't look that old to me. In fact that might be the same ticket wagon in the foreground. Reserved seats being sold out of a ticket box.
Does anyone know when the Barnum Show began using panel banner lines?

There are 1872 and 1873 photos of the Barnum show bannerlines, and likely the same practice was used in 1871, the first season. banners go back to at least the 1850s.

This photo is also identified as 1896, perhaps being part of the Jamestown, NY set circulated years ago. The tent to the right, shown in a companion view, is a 1-cent bicycle check set up
