The wagons on the first flat are loaded backwards to the other flats in this photo. Is this the dining dept that was loaded early ? Great set of photos Buckles.
With the lack of poles,and dining tables,etc loaded on the wagons this might be a shot of the train leaving Washington after the sale. I think most of the wagons went back to Springfield.

Hard to say but whatever it is, it's a good example of "poles to the engine" and "poles to the caboose".
