Evansville Shrine Circus Rehearsal #1

DSC01179, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Buckles,
Rehearsals of three rings of dogs, three rings bears and chimps, mixed act (Lance), two dry runs with elephants and one with girls. All went well.
Tomorrow morning cats rehearse. Saw Mr.C and Herta arrive tonight for the morning rehearsal.
The smell of fresh paint and chrome plating viva aerosol spray can fills this the arena floor this night.

James C. Hall

"Incredible! It will take Ken & Nicole a month to get this much done despite being only a one ring show". Buckles

I guess every act in the business is booked into Evansville this week.

With respect to all my Hispanic friends: I once heard a performer refer to his can of silver spray paint as "Mexican Chrome".

Someone should tape Evansville and show it at SCANA as "This Is A Real Shrine Circus".

Three family acts, tattletale grey webs and a zonkey DONT MAKE A SHRINE DATE! Knock, Knock, anybody there?

What a show...... Damn wish I could be there.... now we need three cat acts. In ring one, from germany Judit and Juergin. In ring 3, Menace of the metal cage, Adam burck, and in the center ring. Special appearence.....very special, so special it's the only place to see him, Wade bruck and his white tigers......

Also referred to as, "Gypsy Chrome"

Wade Burck usually has son Adam outside the cage when he performs in Evansville. Not this year. Adam is booked to work seven other Cuneo cats at a Shrine date in New Orleans, with his brother, Eric, assisting.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

In my St. Louis days I'd head over to Evansville today and a wallow in circus. All the acts (even 3-ring displays), a big band, and all the stories and training theories of Messrs. Hall, Burck, et.al. -- it was terrific.

I now enjoy Disney and appreciate 40 degrees being considered cold but a visit to Roberts Stadium is something I miss. One of these days I'll get back there.
