I believe she was and used the name Kay Clark and did one arm planges on Cole Bros. replacing Cyse O'dell and Jack Burslem was the head porter on the train.

Ernestine was 20 years old when this pic was taken and as you see she was well on the way to becoming arguably the all-time beauty of the big tops. And she did it without all the makeup and cosmetic enhancements of today.

Kim Baer says the pronunciation was A-lee-the-a, and she did later use the name Kay.

Mr. Reynolds is right. And Kim tells us when her mother died at 79, her hair was a beautiful, shimmering silver, and there was not the faintest suggestion of a line in her face.
