John Herriott announcing HTAC (From Mike Naughton)

I found these from about 20 years ago.

Photos taken at the Orange County Fair, Middletown, New York, mid-1980's; Herriotts were set-up next to Commerfords Petting Zoo and Billy Commerford presented the baby Africa, "Karen" in the show.

Thanks Mike and Buckles. I am extremely proud and humbled to appear in the same blog with the great, and one and only Clyde Beatty. Also I must point out that Mr. Beatty's circus was considerably larger than mine. His side show top would even be larger than ours, but we were quite proud of what we had and were successful for all of those years. Thanks for the memories.

John and Mary Ruth...I miss HTAC (sounds like a Stock Exchange symbol).

I'm not throwing bouquets, but for the record I thought the Herriott Trained Animal Circus (HTAC)was "picture perfect" for the fairs. A real tent, a circus entrance flanked by wagons and a show that was "legit" with Shrine date quality "TALENT".

I wasn't the only one impressed---look at how fast your route grew in such a short time. All those fair committee knew a winner.

Remember: I'm not throwing bouquets, but tomorrow I will be running a special on calla-lillies. ---wink wink---
