Blue Show 1986 #1 (From Eric Beheim)

RBBB1986-6, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Attached are 10 photos taken in 1986 when the 116th Edition Blue Unit was in San Diego. Fortunately, it was at a time when you could still bring a camera into the backyard without getting run off. This was the edition that featured the Chinese acrobats, who had the spec built around their presentation. It took place in the second half of the show, and the elephant act was used to close the first half. Little did I realize when I took these photos that seeing this many elephants on the lot at one time would soon be a thing of the past.

Passing of Ed Todd, Candyman
No information at this time. Ed was a major CFA PA Sparkplug. Ed donated hundrends of elephants that were given away at the 2007 CFA Hershey Convention. He was one of the Convention committee men that did more than was of expected..His wife has been in poor health and just recently Ed was in an apartment fire..Ed was known as the Candyman for it was ED that always arrived to the various CFA functions with two boards of cotton candy. At times he would introduced himself as Jim Rittle,PA CFA State Chairman. Ed is another CFA-Fan that can't be replaced. He will be missed by all...Our hearts and prayers go out to THE Family. A True American...Ed was from the Harrisburg, PA area...

I'm happy to report that the news of ED TODD passing over the weekend was FALSE...We learned today that although Ed has had some health problems after his apartment fire he is presently back home from the hospital and feeling better each day...Sorry for any inconvenience that this BLOG Entry might have caused. We hope The Candyman won't forget us this fall/winter with his usual cottoncandy. The best to Ed and his wife.
