I have found it interesting - note the sign painted on the building in the background - that Funeral Homes were also in the furniture business.

Barnett Bros. Circus - 1928 to 1936 and 1938 to 1939; 1945 Ray Rogers, proprietor.

In 1938 Ray Rogers had Shelby Bros. Circus on the road.

In 1937, 1940 - '44 Ray Rogers owned Wallace Bros Circus

In 1943 Rogers had the Clyde Beatty-Wallace Bros. Circus

At the turn of the century, most furniture stores were also funeral parlors and had those exquisite horse drawn hearses which were very elegant and usually had glass panels so the coffin could be seen.
There is a book available that shows post mortem collectibles with the prices that some of these items are bringing and they are not cheap.
