This lady has gained information as to the location of every exotic animal owner in Florida as well as the address of everyone in the immediate vicinity, to which a copy of this letter was sent. |

This looks like a peta front and since the BBB usually doesn't like people from out of the area to contact them, why don't all of you Floridians send them letters asking what this group is and how it happens to be a member.
What an interesting position that the head of that facility should take. Upon personally seeing their lion and tiger cages I was counfounded that any government agency would have the incredible audacity to sign aplications or repeatedly sign inspection sheets stating that they had actually looked at the cages for their animals. I think everyone should go to their website and look at the photos of their lion and tiger enclosures. They are a total joke !
No framework whatsoever ! they have hog panels stood on edge and hog ringed together ! and for access they simply cut a hole in the middle of a panel, and close it by hog ringing a patch over the hole !It's downright scary !
And I believe that the government officials who allowed that type of facility to be used should be fired and lose their pensions. I mean come on folks we have their signatures on the applications for permits and on inspection reports. these facilities are clearly way under structural And these government officials are clearly guilty of not doing the job that they are being paid to do !specificatios, some that are written and some that are industry standards.
I have seen write ups for "structurally unsound" shade structures that are not even a part of the caging.
And while we are at it I do not understand how the Feld organization can be so lax as to send retired animals to this facility without first having a competent animal person inspect the facility.
This woman brags about having RBBB retirees and getting large donations from them. But believe me if a strong wind blows these phony farces away those animals will suddenly become the property off RBBB once again under the "deep pockets" policy of our legal system.
Not to mention the chicken leg diet that the animals live on at that facility. And that is easy enough to verify by simply asking to see her receipts for animal food.
If you feed lions and tigers on a diet of chicken you develop exremely lethargic animals. But then if you feed them red meat you might need stronger housing.
But my main point is that if anyone should be pounding the drum for safer procedures around large dangerous animals it should not be this woman !
I reccommend that every person that reads this contact their congressmen & congresswomen both state and federal and usda & state fish & wildlife officials and demand an investigation into why these conditions are allowed.I expect government inspectors that rule on "structural integrity" of animal housing to be equipped to do so and not be swayed by a beautiful landscaping.
I was personally told recently by a lady USDA inspector, when I challenged her qualifications to assess the "structural integrity" of wild animal facilities, that she took photos of the facility and "everyone at the office" agreed with her. It worries me when government officials ask their secretarial pool their opinion.
We need to hold these officials responsible for what comes out of their mouths. And not let their superiors rely on the old saw "WE really like to leave that up to our inspectors discretion" !
Uneven enforcement is NOT just an abstract concept !
Larry had his Wheaties this morning, didn't he. :-)
I don't think inspectors are consistent either. Even when talking about shifting cages on the road, one guy came up in Toledo and told me I needed 'handles' welded to the cages. I asked why, and he said so the prop guys didn't put their hands directly on the cages. Oh. They won't use them, I knew, but I had them put on anyway. It was the first time I'd heard this, and since he didn't find anything else wrong with my stuff, I wondered if that was really in the book or...
Our friend Walter Cook in Tennessee is the best inspector, though. :-) He's VERY thorough.
A little research...that emblem in the upper right hand corner is the newly designed logo for the Better Business Bureau's department of Charitable Gifts.
The ultimate REASON for the Animal Fanatics is to scam innocent people's money for the activists' paychecks, the Fanatics' EXCUSE is animal rights.
The Fanatics never hand out a brochure against the circus without specific directions regarding where to send money AND exactly to whom you should make the check payable.
Florida Class 1 & 2 wildlife licence holders whom are offended by this letter, which is clearly harrassing and putting unjustified fear into your neighbors, should file a complaint with the Better Buisness Bureau. She is apparently a member of the BBB and is displaying one of their logos on her letter.
Clearly, such a harrassing letter is not a good buisness practice. Perhaps they will revoke her affiliation with the BBB. Include a scan of her original letter.
This woman is shooting herself in the foot, but she has done this before. Ringling was giving her $$$ donations, but then she bad mouthed the circus to the press, and the donations stopped.
